EDOARDO PALUAN'S PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Emeralds Holdings
Our holding company is to associate ourselves with the qualities of speed, agility and fighting spirit, which align with our messaging of overcoming challenges and relentlessly pursuing excellence in every investment you make.
These are the qualities that are needed to overcome the challenges that arise in the ever-changing business landscape, especially in launching and managing start-ups.

nate
At nate, Edoardo Paluan led the #MakeSomeoneSmile campaign, generating over 7 billion views and 1.4M UGC videos, solidifying the brand’s US presence. As Product Manager, he helped build the B2C and B2B products, working with developers and product managers to deliver user-centric, scalable solutions. His ability to connect creative vision with technical execution drove major growth across both consumer and business platforms.

Yo-Da
Yo-Da is an AI-powered personal data agency representing people in the market for their personal information. Edoardo Paluan, Co-Founder and former CTO, led the company’s technical vision—developing secure, privacy-first infrastructure that empowered individuals to take control of their data and unlock its value on their own terms.

Public.io
Edoardo Paluan joined the Public cohort to support the UK’s Data Protection regulatory efforts, working closely with teams including those at 10 Downing Street. PUBLIC’s mission is to help the public sector deliver digitally-enabled services that improve society for all. Rather than providing short-term solutions, PUBLIC focuses on embedding lasting capabilities within government, enabling long-term transformation and impact beyond the scope of individual projects.

Entrepreneurs First
Edoardo Paluan joined Entrepreneurs First Cohort 10 in London, where he successfully co-founded Yo-Da alongside Benjamin Falk. During the programme, they developed the concept for Yo-Da—a general data protection agent designed to submit GDPR requests on behalf of individuals and enable them to monetise their personal data. After graduating from the cohort and securing funding, they set out to build the company with a mission to give people control over their data in an increasingly digital world.

Globacap
At Globacap, Edoardo Paluan worked as a Data Scientist, where he developed machine learning models and CNNs to extract financial data from Companies House filings. He built a product that automated the extraction of P&L and balance sheet information from submitted PDFs—downloading documents, correcting scan defects, locating target data, applying OCR, and using NLP to structure the output into CSV format—significantly speeding up the company’s data processing workflows.

Mendeley Data
At Mendeley Data, Edoardo Paluan began as an engineer and became a self-taught Machine Learning Engineer, contributing to the development of what aimed to be the Dropbox of data for scientists. He later transitioned into a Product Management role, before briefly joining the core R&D team to explore innovative ways to enhance scientific output and support academic research through data-driven tools.
